Events for 2020

     2020 was an unusual summer. In early February, we proposed a schedule similar to previous summers with two RCL3 (River Canoeing Level 3) events with Eliada Homes, two Quickstart Your Canoe events and an RCL3 event with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of WNC and an RCL3 event with Asheville Academy for Girls.  Around that time, Covid 19 started to rear its ugly head and we quickly cancelled the first two events with BBBS.  In late May, we cancelled our event with the AAG and put the RCL3's with BBBS and EH on hold.

     In early June, there was talk of moving forward with the reopening of North Carolina which caused us to look at the possibility of holding an RCL3 with EH in early July.  Unfortunately, the reopening of North Carolina was paused in late June and we were forced to cancel the remaining events on our calendar.  It was with great reluctance that we cancelled our events.  We know the benefits that the participating adults, students and volunteers receive as a result of their experience on the water.  We hope that progress will be made toward the eradication of Covid 19 during our off season that will allow us to resume our activities in 2021.
